Dancing Holidays Abroad “January 2023 Bash” Arrangements & Information

The January 2023 “Holiday with Dancing” dates have been agreed with Sunset Beach Club Hotel.

In January 2023 Weeks 2 & 3 have been consolidated into one week (WEEK 2).

WEEK 2 January 2023 will offer 5 Evening Dances and 2 Morning Workshops.

Dancing will begin on the evening of 15^th January 2023 and the last dance will be on 

the evening of 19^th January 2023. 

The Group Meal (henceforth “…by Request..”) will be on the evening of 

20^th January 2023 (…………if requested!!).

To secure a place on WEEK 2, January 2023 please email us at 

cksolution@hotmail.co.uk 

and we will add your name to our “Registry of Interest”.

It is our intention to continuously monitor the impact of Covid 19 on the holiday 

industry and dancing holiday scene in general during 2022 and early 2023.

We hope to ask Sunset Beach Club Hotel to release the WEEK 2, January 2023 

Promotion Code and to open their website for booking in the late summer, 

early autumn 2022.

We will notify all those on our “Registry of Interest” in advance, of this date.

Bookings will be taken by Sunset Beach Club Hotel under the terms and conditions 

agreed and applied to Dancing Holidays Abroad Holidays in previous years.

full compliance with all Covid-19 Spanish National, Andalusian Local and

 Sunset Beach Club Hotel, Legal Requirements, Recommendations and Protocols 

in effect at the time of the function.

Experience Gained on the January 2022 (Week 1) “Holiday with Dancing”

The January 2022 Week 1 “Holiday with Dancing” (the “…by Invitation Only Week”) 

ran as scheduled in full compliance with Spanish National, Andalusian Local and 

Sunset Beach Club Hotel Legal Requirements, Recommendations and Protocols.

The existing Spanish National, Andalusian Local Legal Requirements, in force in 

January 2022 mandated that

”…. face masks shall be correctly worn in all outdoor and indoor locations and

 shall be removed only at the moment of ingestion of food and/or drink; 

after which the mask will be promptly & correctly replaced….”

So, it was mandatory to wear a face mask at all times in the Sunset Beach Hotel (except, of course,  when in your personal apartment).

It was mandatory to wear a face mask at all times in the Moonlight Bar; 

whilst dancing, whilst sitting, at the Practice Session, Morning Workshops, 

& Evening Dances.

This gave a whole new meaning to “…attending a Masked Ball”.

We cannot deny that wearing a face mask whilst dancing was an undesirable, challenging and sometimes uncomfortable situation to be in: but, the law is the law!...... Break it at your peril!

Personally we found face mask wearing in general inconvenient, but, believed it an essential first line of defence to control infection.

 Specifically, when dancing, wearing a face mask inhibits breathing 

(particularly noticeable in the faster tempo dances), and also demands a drastic 

change of technique when teaching and MC’ing.

Wearing a face mask makes interpersonal communication challenging: and very difficult particularly in a dancing venue.

I personally have long been a skeptic with regards to the efficacy of face mask wearing, thinking masks ineffective when considering Covid-19 particulate size: but, we were determined not to break the law: so, we thoroughly researched face masks, and had four different styles, in three different levels of filter efficiency, available for use whilst travelling to Spain, and whilst resident in Spain.

The upshot of all this for the Dancing holiday was:

Initially, the sun was very kind to us considering that it was early January: always a  good start.

We “tweaked” the dancing experience to accommodate “mandatory face mask wearing” and to minimize its impact, with some little success. It was not anyone’s first choice as a dancing experience, but the experience was generally well accepted by those attending: and face masks were deemed “a necessary evil”.

 You may ask, was the enjoyment experienced worth all the inconvenience and compromises made?

That judgment can only be made individually by those who attended.

What lessons have we learned from running the holiday?

Well; we were not personally ill: not even a “Winter Cold”, during our time in Spain.

Furthermore; none of the dancers were ill during the period of the holiday; and, we enquired 5 to 7 days after they returned home and there were still no reports of illness!! All this is despite there being a “peak” in the Covid-19 infection rate in Andalucía (Malaga) in December 21 to January 22: and, the dancers not spending  100% of their time in our “charge”.

In conclusion, I (we) returned to the UK much humbled, much better educated, and greatly enlightened person(s), pleased (despite our initial fear, forebodings and apprehension) that we had proceeded with running the holiday.

I am now convinced that simple hygiene measures (Social Distancing, Hand Sanitizing, Face Mask Wearing, etc.) have a major impact on, and contributed greatly towards, the success of the January 2022 holiday; and the group’s good health in general.

(I personally also have always been a firm advocate of being fully Covid-19 & Influenza Vaccinated, Boosted and Immunized, all of which were required to gain entry to Spain January 2022).

Finally; we wish to thank our dancers, and the SBCH management and Staff, for going the “extra very inconvenient mile”, complying with the existing legislation and increased hygiene measures; for keeping us all safe, and for giving us the opportunity to enjoy dancing again.

Please Note:- In Andalusia, January 2022, it was mandatory to wear Face Masks in all indoor and outdoor locations: so we danced wearing Face Masks!

The January 2022 Weeks 2 & 3 (the ……..“advertised weeks”…….) did not run, however, following the last minute withdrawal of the majority of the group’s outbound flight.

It is with the deepest regret that we have to announce the cancellation of our January 2022 Dancing Holiday 

(NOTE:- It is the holiday scheduled from 15^th to 28^th January 2022).

We have had many dancers cancel over the Christmas and New Year period for a multitude of reasons, most of which are consequences of the Covid 19 pandemic.

We will continue our association with Sunset Beach Club Hotel in 2022 and will seek to reschedule the holiday for January 2023.

We met with Sunset Beach Club Hotel Management earlier this week to finalise the arrangements for the January 2022 "Holiday with Dancing" and are pleased to announce that the Holiday will 

"GO AHEAD as ADVERTISED".

However, since our meeting with Sunset Beach Club Hotel Management the UK, France and Ireland have announced enhanced entry and exit measures at their national borders to counter the anticipated Covid 19 omicron infection peak. 

We anticipate that other EU countries including Spain will  make similar announcements in the immediate future.

Whilst the Covid 19 pandemic situation continues to evolve so rapidly the 

January 2022 "Holiday with Dancing" will remain under constant review.

We have now launched our January 2020 Holiday with Dancing and up-dated this website.

We will not be including the latest, up-to-date sequence dancing in our programs due to lack of demand.

For January 2020 we are only advertising weeks 2 & 3 of the holiday on this website as week one is being manually monitored due to heavy demand from repeat booker's.

We hope to see you in January 2020.

We have just completed our second "Dancing Holidays Abroad" January 

“Holiday with Dance” at Sunset Beach Club Hotel in Benalmadena.

The holiday was a roaring success!!!

We wish to thank all involved in contributing to the success of the holiday; 

Firstly to the dancers who supported the holiday; your enthusiasm for, and commitment to, dancing continues to be our inspiration and motivation; and, we for our part will offer an experience which is even better next year. 

Secondly to the Management and Staff of Sunset Beach Hotel: your commitment to excellence in Guest Relations and Customer Care was repeatedly demonstrated again this year.  We would like to particularly thank the staff of the Commercial Dept., Reception, Bars & Restaurants, Housekeeping, Maintenance, Animation and Security for your prompt and timely support which contributed to the success of this year’s Holiday:

Acknowledgements & Credits after January 2018 Dancing Holidays Abroad Promotion

We have just successfully completed our first Dancing Holidays Abroad promotion in partnership with Sunset Beach Club Hotel, Benalmadena, Costa del Sol; Spain .

We wish to thank all dancers who supported our Workshops and Evening Dances. Your enthusiasm for dancing motivates us, is a constant source of inspiration to us, and, makes you a joy and pleasure to work with.

We wish to thank the staff and management of Sunset Beach Club Hotel, your commitment to the pursuit of excellence in customer service and care, and, your focus and dedication to exceed customer expectations far surpasses any we have previously experienced in our 10 years on the “front line” in the holiday, hotel and service industries.

Our objective at the onset of this project was to bring the “Dancing Holiday” into the 21^st century by innovation and the introduction of a series of “Firsts” (i.e. on-line booking, no deposit, pay on arrival, no cancellation penalties, a world of dining choices etc.). We have delivered and proven this concept and generated a desire by all parties involved to repeat the holiday in 2019.
